The
Palace Theater, Hilo. My favorite theater on the island (not only
because I'm on the board of directors). Always good art house movie
programming, concerts, musicals etc. Built in 1925 as a state of the
art film theater. It still features some of the old glitz and is a pleasure
to experience. It's a trip back in time.
The
Kress Theater. Hilo. Finally a Dollar theater in Hilo and it's pretty
nice. Mostly Hollywood gore, but what do you expect for a buck? Located
in the historic Kress building downtown. They won't let you in with
ANY bags so you'll have to stash you cerveza in your baggy pants...
